What's on in Paris Region this spring 2023?
It’s official: Spring is here! The first flowers are blooming in the parks and gardens, the days are getting longer, the temperatures are getting milder and we are even more eager to enjoy the sunshine on the terrace of a café. So, after a winter that is still far too long, we put away the coats and set off to discover the best that Paris Region has to offer. Sports and gastronomic events, egg hunts with the kids, hikes in parks and gardens, exhibitions-events in the most beautiful museums, … our spring round-up is bound to put a smile on your face!
Sport, gastronomy, nature, culture… No need to choose.
This spring, it’s time to put on your running shoes and start preparing for the summer by taking short strides in the parks and gardens or in the open air in the forests of Paris Region. The most competitive runners have already faced the time of the mythical Paris Marathon which set the capital’s tarmac alight on 2 April. And if you couldn’t participate, don’t panic, there are many running races adapted to all levels.
Will he win his fifteenth title?
Who’s that? Rafael Nadal, of course, who will join the best tennis players on the red clay of Roland Garros from 22 May to 11 June. The stadium continues to undergo a transformation to better welcome visitors from all over the world.
Let’s also talk about gourmet food with the new edition of Taste of Paris which will be held under the vaults of the Grand Palais Ephémère from 11 to 14 May. Starred chefs and young talents, food artisans and exceptional products… Taste of Paris brings together in one place the best of today’s and tomorrow’s gastronomy.
Paris Region’s spring exhibitions have everything it takes to make a splash. Modern and contemporary art, fashion and photography… they know how to attract young and old alike! One rushes to the Grande Halle de la Villette to dive into the splendours of ancient Egypt with the gold of Ramses II, to the Atelier des Lumières to explore the colourful and unclassifiable work of the painter Marc Chagall, to the Musée d’Orsay for a face-to-face encounter between Degas and Manet, to the Musée Picasso-Paris to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the death of the Catalan master…
Finally, take advantage of the arrival of fine weather to discover the brand new Hangar Y located in Meudon, on the edge of the forest. This former 19th century airship hangar, the first in the world, offers a programme at the crossroads of art, science and nature.
