Summer in Paris

Exhibitions, sporting and gastronomic events... Find the absolute best things to do in Paris Region during Summer 2024.
  1. Summer in Paris

With the Fête de la Musique kicking off the festivities on 21 June, festivals are taking over parks and even churches all summer long. Weekend dancers are getting into the swing of things at the guinguettes on the banks of the Seine and Marne. The temperature rises, the sun shines brightest and the music stages play their most beautiful songs: it’s time to party and have fun.

Sport is another celebration to be enjoyed this summer. Paris Region is in the international spotlight as host of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Concorde district is to become a spot for freestyle BMX and skateboarding, the Invalides will be laying down the green carpet for archery, and the Grand Palais will be swapping its exhibitions for fencing competitions… A chance to (re)discover the districts and towns of Paris Region in a different light.

To mark the occasion, the Cultural Olympiad is coming to Paris Region. The idea is to take a multi-disciplinary approach to sport, with hundreds of events taking place across France. Whether you’re taking an artistic plunge, a leap into history or a scientific dive, the rich programme will leave you breathless. If you’re in need of a gentle artistic interlude between a few sweats, this year celebrates the 150th anniversary of Impressionism. As the birthplace of this artistic movement, the region guides you in the footsteps of Monet and his peers to explore the places that inspired these great masters.

On foot or by bike, on a terrace or in the park, singing or running, there’s plenty to do in Paris Region.
