Paris’s summer of electronic music events culminates in the giant party that is the Technoparade. Its procession of floats brings a welcome dose of techno music to the streets of the French capital. On board, the city’s most fashionable DJs pump out throbbing techno beats over a 5 km route stretching from Place d’Italie to the Louvre. Benny Bennassi, David Guetta, Bob Sinclair and Carl Cox have all graced previous editions of this iconic staple of the Parisian summer.
The event was set up in the late eighties by then Culture Minister Jack Lang to honour what he considered to be a neglected musical genre. And what a decision that proved to be! For over two decades now, more than 400,000 people have been coming along each year to revel in the inclusive party atmosphere. Not to be missed!
