CUBISM

From 17 October 2018 to 25 February 2019
Gallery 1

The Centre Pompidou takes a fresh look at one of modern art history’s founding movements, Cubism. The exhibition reflects the links between the Cubists and their counterparts in the intellectual and social milieus of their time, bringing together some 300 works by the main artists of the movement: Picasso, Braque, Derain, Laurens, Delaunay, Léger, Picabia, Duchamp

The circuit is chronological, providing clarity for audiences on the key concepts, tools and procedures that gave Cubism such unity. For the first time, the most influential works and most significant series are brought together. The exhibition sheds light on the experimental yet collective nature of this movement.
