Description

Come and discover the Musée de l'Orangerie, an artistic gem nestled in the heart of Paris, close to the Tuileries gardens and just a step away from the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde.

The Musée de l'Orangerie is a top destination for art lovers thanks to its remarkable collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces. At the heart of the museum, in two oval rooms, we find the famous "Nymphéas" by Claude Monet, a monumental installation of staggering beauty spread over eight panels of two metres high and a total length of 91 metres. Did you know that the master himself helped design these rooms?

The museum's permanent collections include pieces by some of the greatest artists of the 19th and 20th centuries: Matisse, Renoir, Modigliani, Picasso, Henri Rousseau, Derain, Cézanne, Laurencin and Soutine.

You'll also discover rich and diverse artistic treasures, including not only paintings, but also sculptures, as well as a selection of artworks from Africa and Oceania.

For an exceptional cultural experience, book your ticket for the Musée de l'Orangerie now. Explore art, nature and history all in one place, and let yourself be captivated by the magic of impressionism!

Temporary exhibitions included in the Musée de l'Orangerie admission ticket

Temporary exhibition - Amadeo Modigliani. A painter and his dealer - Until 15 January 2024

This exhibition focuses on a significant period in the artistic life of Amedeo Modigliani: his encounter in 1914 with Paul Guillaume, who became his art dealer. He bought, sold and collected the painter's paintings. Through his stories, Paul Guillaume reveals a more intimate portrait of Modigliani, highlighting their shared artistic and literary affinities. Their common interest in African art is evident, as is their sensitivity to literature and poetry. Through a varied collection of emblematic works, this exhibition explores the relationship between these two personalities and their impact on Modigliani's artistic career.
