Description
A mythical department store
A visit to Paris wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the historic Galeries Lafayette department store, which stretches out majestically across three buildings. The main building is worth a visit for its Art Nouveau decor alone. Look up and admire the extraordinary dome, an iconic symbol of the store, whose stained-glass Neo-Byzantine windows diffuse a myriad of multi-coloured lights. The banister for the monumental staircase, inspired by the Opéra de Paris, was designed by Louis Majorelle. In short, this Parisian fashion trove, open 7 days a week, is teeming with marvels.
The best of fashion and luxury
The main Coupole store focuses on French art de vivre and fashion, offering, across 7 floors, clothes, cosmetics and accessories, as well as jewellery and fine watches for women with over 3,500 brands, including Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Céline, Cartier, Chaumet, Longchamp, Guerlain, Sisley and Hermès.
In the basement of the main shop, enjoy the brand new Wellness Galerie, 3000 m² devoted to well-being, bringing together the best of beauty, care and sport, massage cabins, a hammam, a sauna room and a fitness room. Pure bliss!
On the 3rd floor, you will find the (Re)Store, the new Parisian space dedicated to second hand and responsible fashion, from accessible to luxury. Shoe collectors have plenty to do on the 4th floor! From timeless classics to the latest trends, from iconic brands to current designers, from sneakers to stiletto shoes, this is the largest space dedicated to shoes in Europe. Kids are royalty on the 5th floor of the main shop. On 3000m², from fashion to toys, the brands have been selected just for them. Men have not been forgotten.Linked by footbridge, is the Homme store, dedicated entirely to men, with 500 brands spread across 4 floors.

360 degree view
For a gourmet break and an unmatchable view inside the dome, head to the first floor of the main building. Here, the store’s reputation for excellence is maintained at the Bar Kaspia restaurant, which offers a refined light snack menu. Or, during summer, you might prefer the experience of having Paris (literally) at your feet, with a meal at Tortuga up on the building’s terraced roof.
Galeries Lafayette Maison & Gourmet
For more foodie treats, head across the road to Lafayette Gourmet. This kingdom of gastronomy combines fine grocers and restaurants and is guaranteed to tickle your tastebuds. French stars here include the prestigious Marcolini, Pierre Hermé and the pasty chef Yann Couvreur, Petrossian caviar, Greek delicacies by Mavrommatis, and the Italian Salumeria Rosi. Food is available to take away or eat onsite. On the upper floors, Lafayette Maison focuses on the home, stocking everything from furniture to fine bed linen.
Lovers of fashion, gastronomy and oenology, don't miss the activities and workshops run by the department store as well as the Ferrandi cooking classes.
A warm welcome
A team of multilingual hosts are onsite to help visitors at the ground-floor reception desk of the main store. There is also a Tourist Information desk on the ground floor of the Men’s store where you can buy your Paris Region Pass. A tax refund service is on offer, of course tax-free service, and visitors can choose to transform their shopping trip into a special moment by making an appointment with a personal shopper.
