La Nouvelle Eve
Description
With its intimate atmosphere, elegant décor and dazzling shows, La Nouvelle Eve combines dance, music and comedy to delight everyone.
Like most of its counterparts, such as the Moulin Rouge or Madame Arthur, it brilliantly blends music hall and cabaret. This former theatre, known as the Fantaisies Parisiennes in 1898, took an even bolder turn in 1920 when it was renamed Gaîté and became Paris’s first striptease revue. After the war, the owner of the Eve cabaret on Place Pigalle took over and renamed the venue La Nouvelle Eve.
Redecorated in a Belle Époque style, it still retains its starry ceiling, a testament to its rich past. Only 280 lucky guests can attend the dinner-show each evening, making this one of the smallest cabarets in Montmartre.
125 years of entertainment
In this cabaret, it’s the Parisian women who lead the dance – but not just any dance: the French Cancan. Originating in the public dance halls of 19th-century Paris, it now features in every dinner-show at La Nouvelle Eve. Rhinestones, feathers, sequins and comedy are the hallmarks of this music-hall cabaret, which regularly changes its show to cater to all tastes. Its revue Paris, je t’aime celebrates the golden age of Paris and the capital’s own ‘Môme’: Édith Piaf.
La Nouvelle Eve doesn’t just put on a spectacular show; it also offers a refined culinary experience to complement the performance. With its dinner shows, you can savour gourmet French cuisine before letting yourself be swept away by the magic of the show. The menus are carefully crafted, showcasing fresh and seasonal produce to delight both the eyes and the palate.
