Description

2025–2030: The Centre Pompidou reinvents Itself

In autumn 2025, the Centre Pompidou’s iconic building—located in the heart of Paris in the Beaubourg district and designed in 1977 by architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers entered a major five-year renovation phase.

By 2030, a reimagined Centre Pompidou will reopen its doors. While its striking exterior will remain unchanged, the interior will be entirely redesigned to embrace new forms of cultural expression, reaffirm its multidisciplinary spirit, enhance visitor experience, and rethink the presentation of Europe’s largest collection of modern and contemporary art.

Throughout this transformation, the Centre Pompidou remains fully active. Its collection, multidisciplinary programming, and creative spirit continue to travel across Paris, throughout France, and internationally, thanks to the ambitious “Constellation” programme. This initiative ensures the continuation of the Centre’s dynamic, cross-disciplinary programme including exhibitions, live performances, cinema, talks, and cultural mediation activities across multiple venues.
