Description

Vive les Groues is a project to occupy and bring new life to an unused plot of land in Nanterre, France that started in 2018.

Led by the group Yes We Camp that developed the Grands Voisins project, the initiative is part of a push to usher in a new era for the Groues neighbourhood, in part by locally producing trees to help make public spaces greener.

This vast 9,000-square meter space close to the business district of La Défense has no difficulties when it comes to social distancing! Here, you can wander safely between the plant nursery, gardens, and vegetable patches.

This summer, the community projects and workshops (which are open to everyone) are focused around the theme of transmission. There is a hands-on, experienced-based learning programme and the whole setting encourages different people to come together.

Another new thing this summer is the SAMBA refreshment stand run by the brewers of the Petite Couronne brasserie.

It's a perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoor seating, sip fresh beer from a socially responsible and local company, and take advantage of the self-service barbecue!

Vive les Groues is one of must-see unusual places in Paris Region.
