Description
In the town of La Queue-lez-Yvelines, the Serre aux Papillons (Butterfly House) is home to hundreds of exotic butterflies fluttering freely among rare flowers and plants. This unmissable site promises an immersive, educational and exotic experience, ideal for an outing with family or friends. A magical visit for young and old alike!
Enter a lush and colourful world where more than 700 tropical butterflies fly around in complete freedom. In a warm and humid environment, where the temperature is maintained at 26°C for the insects' well-being, you will discover all the stages of their metamorphosis, from chrysalis to flight, and observe these fascinating creatures perching on rare plants and tropical flowers, or sometimes even on your shoulder.
An Educational and Fun Experience
The visit invites visitors to relax and contemplate, while raising awareness of the beauty and fragility of nature. The greenhouse offers an educational tour suitable for families, allowing them to discover the different stages of a butterfly's life, from chrysalis to hatching.
Explanatory panels and interactive activities are available to learn more about their environment and the ecosystems they inhabit. Children can also take part in fun workshops to understand the importance of protecting fragile species.
A shop completes the visit, offering souvenirs, educational games and natural products inspired by the world of insects.
