Description
With the exceptional support of the Musée d’Orsay, the Musée du Luxembourg presents a new exhibition dedicated to Léon Monet, Claude’s elder brother. Léon was a colour chemist, an industrialist and a collector, and he built up a remarkable collection of Impressionist art.
The exhibition brings together around 100 works, offering an in-depth insight into colour creation and revealing to the public for the very first time the portrait that Claude painted of his elder brother in 1874, as well as paintings and drawings by Sisley, Pissaro and Renoir.
