Description
When the hustle and bustle of Porte Maillot gets to be too much, the Bois de Boulogne, just a few minutes away, offers the perfect place to unwind. In the heart of this French Central Park, next to Roland-Garros stadium, take a stroll through the park and discover the three-star gourmet restaurant Le Pré Catelan, an unforgettable gourmet experience.
A one-of-a-kind gourmet cuisine in a green haven
As you walk across the lawn leading to the restaurant, you will quickly realise that you are about to experience a moment of exception. The imposing Napoleon III pavilion has served as the theatre for Parisian social events for many years, since the Pré Catelan was inaugurated in 1856. Acquired by Colette and Gaston Lenôtre in 1976, the gastronomic restaurant continues to honour the finest French culinary tradition.
You will immediately be dazzled by the large dining room, designed by Pierre-Yvon Ronchon. With a resolutely contemporary approach, the architect has succeeded in enhancing the classic and prestigious character of the premises. In fact, the setting combines elegance and modernity: the immaculate white of the walls and crockery rubs shoulders with the silver tones of the sideboards and cutlery, all enhanced by the bright, bold green of the armchairs and carpets.
A taste for beauty and excellence
Ever since chef Frédéric Anton** took the reins in 1997, Le Pré Catelan has been striving for excellence. The ultimate accolade was the award of three Michelin stars in 2007. A former disciple of Joël Robuchon, Frédéric Anton has once again produced a gastronomic menu of the highest calibre, like the starred Jules Verne and Don Juan II.
Creative and ambitious, the menu orchestrated by Frédéric Anton includes 10 to 12 dishes. Like a work of art, each dish shines with elegance and prestige, both in terms of the religiously crafted dressing and the marriage of flavours. Witness the sea urchin tartlet** with stracciatella cream, caviar and lime zest, or the Madère, walnut ice cream with vinaigrette, crispy cabbage and aniseed powder. Don't forget to book your table well in advance to enjoy this exceptional meal.
