La Mutinerie
Description
Between Rambuteau and Etienne Marcel, not far from the Centre Pompidou, a large black façade displaying the name La Mutinerie in big red letters is a striking presence in the neighbourhood. Inside, there is a large LGBT rainbow flag, small tables scattered around the room, grunge décor with numerous posters on the walls and a large pool table in the centre. This activist and inclusive bar is a local institution!
Eclectic and committed LGBT programme
Concerts, conferences, DJ sets, sessions run by community-based groups, performances, writing workshops, drag shows, screenings, self-defence classes, karaoke, open mic nights… there’s always something going on at La Mutinerie! Like a political and cultural bar, we change the world to make it a better place. A small friendly space, La Mutinerie is a neighbourhood bar, a library, a venue for screenings, pool games, yoga classes, self-defence classes, and concerts, where you can listen to queer punk, hyper-dynamic tomboyish hip-hop, or even Dominican bachata. A programme of events that creates a new atmosphere each time, grunge, burlesque or even Creole!
The main aim for this inclusive bar is to be accessible to all and, in particular, to the lesbian, bi, queer and trans community… A feminist space designed by and for girls, trans and queer people in general. The profits from the events are donated to community-based groups and organisations. All of the events are hosted by queer and/or lesbian artists and speakers.
La Mutinerie is a space for meetings, sharing, discussions and empathy, something that is all too rare.
Open from 5 pm to 1:30 am every day, it’s the perfect place to avoid melancholy evenings, let loose and enjoy the delights of the rainbow-hued programme. The LGBT palace!
The time is right to discover our selection of clubbing.
