La Guinguette d'Angèle

La Guinguette d'Angèle

And that’s three! Angèle Ferreux-Maeght needs no introduction. The Parisian priestess of all things green and organic has bar-restaurants all over the French capital. And they are a breath of fresh air!

Description

First of all, they are delightful places, exuding a charming bucolic spirit with their light-coloured wood, green plants, dried flowers, pastel tones and flea-market finds rich with the patina of time… A soothing setting that will boost mind and body alike, as every meal, taken out, is tantamount to a dose of detox therapy.

A naturopath by training, a cook by passion, Angèle has written books whose titles say it all: Les nourritures bienfaisantes [Food that is good for you], Délicieusement green [Deliciously green], Les fêtes végétales [Veggie celebrations]…

Each plate is a living demonstration of her ethos. Everything is organic and gluten-free (with raw and 100% vegan options for those who want them). Take, for instance, the parsnip, celery, almond cream and nutmeg soup, the pollock brandade with dill and rocket pesto, lamb’s lettuce and sunflower seeds; or the chocolate and orange chia pudding and walnut crumble. All at prices that won’t break the bank…
