ZooSafari de Thoiry Lumières Sauvages
In October 2022, Thoiry ZooSafari invites you to a new edition of its Wild Lights, a night-time stroll lit by hundreds of lanterns.
A fabulous trip to the heart of an enchanted natural environment
Until the end of winter, come to Thoiry with the family for a fully illuminated walk as part of a phenomenal odyssey to the heart of a wonderful world where imagination mingles with reality.
The “Wild Lights” populate the gardens and park of the Château de Thoiry for more than 4 months with impressive illuminated lanterns. On a 1.5 km circuit, birds, dinosaurs and other creatures of land and sea seem to awaken to tell you a wonderful story. Let yourself be enchanted by these magical creatures and plants in fascinating settings steeped in poetry.
This year's itinerary takes you through several worlds to meet familiar animals of the savannah, as well as giant plants and a spider nearly 6 metres high! You’re sure to feel very small! You’ll also meet insects, giant flowers, snails and snakes, positioned very close to the château.
Bright, multicoloured lanterns
Designed and made especially for Thoiry, the 1,000 lanterns, handmade in metal and fabric, are in the form of extinct or imaginary animals. Some of these new lanterns are the work of Chinese artists from the city of Zigong, who applied all their know-how and talent for the benefit of this event.
So as not to disturb the animals or disrupt their habits, the Wild Lights circuit steers clear of the zoo. Take advantage of your visit to discover the zoo and safari animals before setting off on your illuminated walk at nightfall. And for an even more complete experience, book your den and spend a night on site watching the bears and wolves moving around near you.
A dreamlike journey through time and discovering nature that will delight young and old!
