Description

In a beautifully preserved natural setting at the heart of the Juine Valley, not far from the Domaine de Méréville, the Villa Paul and the Barberot family will welcome you to discover the ancestral know-how of their watercress farm. You will learn that the watercress harvest, which takes place between June and November, has been performed using the same technique for half a century, the workers standing in clear, non-polluted water, with boots and a knife their only tools.

Since ancient times, watercress has been known for its medicinal virtues and therapeutic properties. Rich in iron and vitamin C, it can be consumed regularly and is low in calories, making it a renowned health food. This speciality of the Paris Region is used in the culinary arts as a condiment and in soups and salads. The Villa Paul offers ready-to-eat takeaway specialities, such as watercress soups.
