Description
From 3 April 2026 to 10 January 2027, the Philharmonie de Paris offers a fascinating insight into the musical world of video games. The Video Games & Music exhibition traces the evolution of video game soundtracks, from the first sound chips to contemporary orchestral compositions. Through more than twenty interactive installations, visitors can explore the cult music of games such as Zelda, Final Fantasy and League of Legends, while discovering the behind-the-scenes story of their creation.
How visitors become part of the score
The exhibition does not just let you listen: it invites you to play with sound. Thanks to immersive devices and motion sensors, everyone becomes part of an evolving score, where the music adapts to the player's movements and choices. This approach highlights the narrative and emotional richness of sound in video games.
A rapidly expanding musical culture
Finally, Video Games & Music celebrates the growing influence of video game music in popular culture. Artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre and Radiohead draw inspiration from it, while the chiptune and demoscene scenes are reinventing the codes of 8-bit. An ideal outing for music and gaming enthusiasts or those who are simply curious about… everything.
