Description

Who hasn't dreamt of travelling back in time? With Viality Tour, you'll be transported back to the Paris of the 1880s. Get ready for an unusual and immersive visit to the Eiffel Tower!

Birth of the Iron Lady

May 1889: Paris welcomes the whole world to celebrate the centenary of the French Revolution. The pavilions of the Universal Exhibition were spread across several locations in the capital: the esplanade des Invalides, the Palais du Trocadéro. But it is to the Champ-de-Mars that all eyes turn… There, an incredible technological feat defies the sky.

The Eiffel Tower was inaugurated for the Universal Exhibition of 1889. Tourists and Parisians flocked to see what some described as a monstrosity. Yet it was an immediate success: in just 2 months, the so-called Iron Lady attracted more than 2 million visitors.

Time travel

Back to the 21st century: you meet your guide in front of the École Militaire. He will fit you with a virtual reality helmet. From there, you cross the Champ-de-Mars, to arrive in sight of the Eiffel Tower. Its incredible metal structure, the brainchild of Gustave Eiffel, gradually rises before your very eyes.

Immersed in a 360° view, you can watch the construction of the Tower's pillars in November 1887, then the various stages of its gradual building.
Viality takes you back to the end of the 19th century, to the time of La Belle Époque. In the festive atmosphere of the Champ-de-Mars, elegantly dressed ladies and gentlemen walk around you, surrounded by horse-drawn carriages and soldiers in full regalia. You can also admire the pavilions built for the 1889 Universal Exhibition, which were demolished afterwards, as was the famous tower.

This immersive experience lasts just over an hour, with commentary available in French and English. For everyone's comfort, the group is deliberately limited to a maximum of 8 people.
The Paris Region is full of more unusual visits than any other. A great way to discover all its secrets.
