Vaux-le-Vicomte celebrates Christmas!
Imagine a fairytale castle, with 33 hectares of formal gardens to stroll around, designed by famous gardener André Le Nôtre and full of ornamental ponds and fountains, decked out withenchanting illuminations and audacious decorations. The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, which inspired the design of the Château de Versailles, transforms into a magical palace for the Christmas holidays.
Pomp and circumstance
As soon as night falls, the gardens light up with thousands of fairy lights twinkling in the box trees and topiary under the watchful eye of a 5 m-tall squirrel, the symbol of the château’s first owner, Nicolas Fouquet. As a monumental projection that blends seamlessly into the architecture and decorations transforms the façade of the castle into a dreamscape full of animated images, inside, the visit is punctuated by sumptuous banquets, dazzling receptions and dances. The glow of the chimney fires and the sweet aromas of cinnamon, honey and orange add the finishing touches to this old-world atmosphere, all to the strains of baroque music. And because Christmas is a time for giving, all children aged 3 to 12 will be given a surprise gift as a souvenir of their magical day!
