Uranoscope of the Île-de-France

Located in Gretz-Armainvilliers in Seine-et-Marne, in the heart of a lush arboretum, the Uranoscope of the Île-de-France is a unique place dedicated to discovering the sky. This astronomical observatory, which also includes a planetarium and a conference room, offers a scientific immersion accessible to all, in a peaceful natural setting just 35 km from the capital.

For more than 40 years, the Uranoscope has pursued its mission of making astronomy accessible to everyone. Open to both curious beginners and experienced enthusiasts, it promotes the sharing of knowledge through an educational and friendly approach.

A true player in scientific outreach, the association encourages the discovery of the sky and celestial phenomena, thanks to activities and the support of passionate volunteers.

Observation evenings and major astronomical events

The Uranoscope opens its doors during free observation evenings, on Saturdays at nightfall. Come and admire the Moon, the planets, and even star clusters through telescopes, in a friendly and educational atmosphere.
Throughout the year, lectures led by scientists or recognised specialists are organised. These events offer the opportunity to deepen your knowledge on a variety of topics, from how stars work to space exploration.

The Nights of the Stars are also an opportunity to discover the Uranoscope with your family, observe the sky, and get introduced to astronomy alongside experts.
