Description
From 15 April to 3 May 2026, Top Hat takes to the stage at the Théâtre du Châtelet to bring the 1935 cult film – originally starring the legendary duo Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers – back to life. Featuring the melodies of Irving Berlin, including the famous Cheek to Cheek, and directed by Kathleen Marshall, this adaptation recaptures all the charm and elegance of Broadway. The show, performed in English with French surtitles, blends tap dancing, humour and romance with delightful ease, in one of the most iconic venues on the Parisian stage.
A whirlwind of tap dancing, music and sumptuous sets
We follow the light-hearted, misunderstanding-filled story of an American dancer and his neighbour, set between London and Venice, through choreographed scenes and sets inspired by 1930s Hollywood. With stylish costumes, a glamorous atmosphere and infectious energy, Top Hat succeeds in recreating all the magic of the great musicals. Whether you’re a Broadway fan, nostalgic for classic cinema, or simply curious, this is a show to be savoured as much for its music as for its elegance.
