- The return of the Olympic Vasque
Description
It's already been 1 year since we experienced the jubilation of the Olympic Games in Paris, and we all remember, either on site or in front of our TV sets, the wonder we felt when the flame was lit and the cauldron lifted into the air.
Olympic symbol
From 21 June to 14 September 2025, the Olympic cauldron is back in the Tuileries Gardens and will return every summer until the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. It's sure to bring back happy memories every year!
21 June 2025, first day of summer marks the return of the vasque with an inaugural concert in the Tuileries Gardens. A symbolic date at a time when the fête de la musique is being celebrated throughout Paris Region. The summer will be punctuated by other events, such as 26 July, the anniversary of the opening ceremony, when a special, still-secret event will be organised for the occasion.
Still shining
The cauldron, designed by Mathieu Lehanneur, is 30 metres high and has a diameter of 7 metres. It will fly more than 60 metres above the ground. Every evening at dusk, the cauldron, lit with a beautiful white flame, like the one at last year's Parade of Champions, will take to the skies at around 9pm and remain there until 1am.
This year you don't need to register to see it. Access is free all day long, and the cauldron can be admired during the garden's opening hours, from 7am to 9pm.
And if you want to admire it from the sky, you'll need to get some height! You'll be able to see it from the Arc de Triomphe, the Montparnasse Tower and even the Butte Montmartre. Not forgetting, of course, all the adjoining streets, including the rue de Rivoli and the area around the Louvre which offers an unbeatable view of the ball.
