The Lionesses
Description
With the arrival of warmer days, the Palais de la Porte Dorée takes on a new energy with Les Lionnes, a pop-up terrace already shaping up to be one of the must-visit spots of the Parisian summer. Set up on the forecourt of this Art Deco masterpiece in Paris’s 12th arrondissement, it invites visitors to step into a festive atmosphere for a timeless escape. Conceived by La Bellevilloise, this hybrid living space transforms the esplanade into a true urban oasis, where people come both to unwind and to share convivial moments with friends or family.
In this exceptional setting, overlooked by one of the largest Art Deco bas-reliefs in Europe and watched over by the famous sculpted lionesses that gave the terrace its name, the experience feels almost immersive. With its welcoming furniture, shaded areas and touches of greenery, the terrace creates a bohemian, sun-drenched atmosphere, ideal for making the most of long summer evenings away from the bustle of the capital.
A festive and foodie programme all summer long
Designed as a vast open-air stage, Les Lionnes offers a rich programme featuring live concerts, DJ sets, outdoor screenings, pub quizzes, workshops and meet-ups that keep the season lively in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.
When it comes to food, conviviality is very much on the menu too. The selection showcases generous, cosmopolitan cuisine, from pizzas made for sharing to street food inspired by flavours from around the world and vegetarian options, not to mention ice creams and other summer treats. At the bar, signature cocktails, beers and refreshing drinks are the perfect companions for sunny late afternoons and lively evenings.
Somewhere between a contemporary guinguette and a committed cultural venue, Les Lionnes offers a complete experience where relaxation, discovery and indulgence come together. It is an ideal summer stop for rediscovering the Palais de la Porte Dorée from a fresh perspective and soaking up the rhythm of Paris Region throughout the summer.
