Description
A medieval town listed as UNESCO World Heritage, impressive riding skills, sword fights, some bad guys and a lovely damsel in distress. You’ll find all the ingredients of a classic medieval saga in this “Legend of the Knights”.
A true medieval adventure in the open air
From 28 March to 1 November 2026, Provins is offering its visitors a trip back to the era of the great Champagne fairs that made the city famous in the Middle Ages.
In this exciting show, the actors recount the famous Count Thibaud IV of Champagne’s return from the crusades accompanied by the beautiful Blanche of Castille. But not everyone is happy about this event, and enemy forces are on the warpath and ready to attack the fortress. Will the Count and his army of knights be able to repel them?
You’ll be dazzled by the prowess of the knights as they battle it out on horseback or on foot, not to mention the galloping chargers, the jugglers’ antics and the arrival of the evil Torvak, who’s come along accompanied by his wolves to challenge Count Thibaud of Champagne.
A historical re-enactment that’s full of fun
Beneath the ramparts, in a covered stand, you and your family can applaud the agility of the stuntmen and their Iberian mounts and be amazed at the demonstrations of real medieval war machines in action. Action, suspense and a generous dose of humour make this exciting performance something really special, guaranteed to enthral young and old alike.
Provins is well worth a visit as there is so much to discover. Consult our guide to organise your next family weekend.
