Description

The Templar Wood, 30 kilometres south of Paris, is a natural area of 35,000 square metres ideal for family walks and bicycle rides. In the valley where the Rouillon, a small tributary of the Yvette, flows, this natural area is a place steeped in history and is home to the oldest bridge in the Paris region.

The Templar Bridge, built in the 13th century and listed as a Historical Monument in 1930, takes you back to the Middle Ages, when a commandery ruled over Balizy. Its three arches support a road with cobblestones worn by time while the Rouillon river flows at its feet. And if you are attentive, you will discover the Templar cross still engraved in the stone. An unusual and fascinating place!

This 3km long walking trail promises you an unusual journey. Discover the archeological secrets and its many treasures!
