Description

This autumn, head to the musée de l'Armée, in the heart of Paris, for a brand new exhibition.

Special Forces at the Musée de l'Armée, a unique exhibition

The exhibition "Special Forces " highlights the history and evolution of these units from their first interventions during the World War II to the most recent ones, including the Cold War and the creation of the COS after the first Gulf War.

In an immersive and spectacular scenography, where still and moving images and multimedia devices play a significant role, the rich collections of the Musée de l'Armée are linked to other objects loaned by special forces units and documents from State services, French and foreign national heritage institutions, private collections, and even manufacturers…

The selection, training, specialisation and training of these men and women are revealed in an unprecedented way. The main feats of arms of these elite units, which belong to the French Army, Navy, Air Force and Space Force as well as the Army Medical Corps, are recounted in order to make visitors aware of the importance of their role in today's military interventions, in peacetime as well as in wartime. More than 69 exclusive interviews are broadcast throughout the tour.

Discover for the first time over 900m² their operating methods, their specific techniques, their equipment and their weapons. Some equipment is even shown to the general public for the first time!

The exhibition, which lifts the veil on one of the most discreet entities of our Armed Forces, is also an opportunity to deal with the representation of Special Forces in the cinema. This exhibition is intended to be accessible to the greatest number of people, even the youngest, and invites us to question the relationship that our societies have today with war and the increasingly important use of special forces.

Even more exhibitions to discover with the family at Paris Region!
