Description
Near the Place des Vosges and the maison de Victor Hugo, another art form is revealed… that of gastronomy. Step through the doors of this restaurant in the 3rd arrondissement and let yourself be enveloped by the unique poetry of the place. One of the most refined Korean restaurants in the capital, Soon Grill plays the fusion card, between tradition and modernity, French creations and Asian notes. A deliciously successful gamble.
A jewel box of purity
Welcome to the kingdom of chef Sunghak Han. From the moment you enter, the charm is palpable: globes of light and ceramic sculptures suspended from the ceiling, exposed stonework, immaculate white furniture… Pure elegance. And with good reason: the owner named his restaurant after his mother, which also means ‘purity’ in Korean. And it also refers to ‘See you soon’, like an invitation to travel again… This refined setting bears the imprint of architect Woojin Lim, and is also a subtle blend of Korean culture and French refinement. Just like the menu, worthy of a gastronomic restaurant.
Fusion delight
Gourmets rejoice: at Soon Grill, excellence is the order of the day. Whether it's Wagyu beef, fish, duck or Iberian pork, every dish is carefully selected and cooked in the pure Korean tradition. The long menu will satisfy even the most indecisive palates: spicy Kimchi stew, grilled salmon, duck with vegetables, squid cakes… But the centrepiece of Sunghak Han's restaurant is the barbecue. Each table is equipped with a central griddle so you can cook your own marinated meat or seafood. The spicy aromas of the side dishes, combined with the smell of the grill, will complete this gastronomic experience. And if your heart (and your appetite) are in the right place, round off your trip to Korea with a surprising sweet treat: frozen soufflé with yuzu lemon, tiramisu with Korean green tea or black sesame ice cream… The land of the fresh morning will never cease to surprise you.
Soon Grill is also an address on the Champs-Élysées. In a setting of draperies inspired by the traditional Buddhist dance Seungmu, you'll be just as enchanted by the cuisine of chef Sunghak Han.
The culinary journey continues in the Korean restaurants of the Paris Region.
