Description

Located in the town of Réau, in Seine et Marne, the Safran Aerospace Museum is a hidden gem for enthusiasts of industrial history and aviation. Created by Snecma in 1985 and renovated in 2000, the SAFRAN Group museum is housed in a former 1930s seaplane hangar. It features a remarkable collection of more than 100 aircraft, rocket, and helicopter engines, along with iconic equipment such as landing gears, braking systems, and even Gnôme & Rhône motorcycles. Each piece, carefully restored by passionate volunteers, tells a chapter of Safran’s history and of humanity’s conquest of the skies and space.

A journey into the heart of aviation and space

The museum offers an immersive and educational experience, accessible to all, showcasing the technological innovations that shaped aeronautics—from early radial engines to modern jet engines and rocket motors. Guided tours, educational workshops, and themed conferences are regularly organized, providing an enriching experience for families, school groups, and curious visitors.

An exceptional collection of more than 400 objects awaits you: aircraft, helicopter, and rocket engines, as well as landing gears, braking systems, drones, and emblematic vehicles from France’s industrial heritage.

Open every Wednesday and on the second and last Saturday of each month, the museum welcomes visitors free of charge, with the option to book guided tours for groups. A gift shop also offers scale models, specialized books, and souvenirs to extend the experience. The Safran Museum is a must visit for anyone wishing to explore the human and technological adventure behind aviation and space exploration.
