Rosa Bonheur Castle Tea Room
Covid-19 information : a health pass is required at the entrance.
Nestled in the town of Thomery, on the edge of the Fontainebleau forest, south of Paris, the Château de By became the studio of the artist Rosa Bonheur in the 19th century. Restored and transformed into a museum with a tea room and guest room, this beautiful building retraces the universe of this exceptional feminist artist and invites you to take a break.
A charming tea room can be found in the former stables of the castle. Curled up in a big Second Empire armchair by the fireplace, under the park's hundred-year-old trees or under the large sunny canopy, whatever the season, enjoy a tea with a pastry.
To perpetuate the tradition and honour Rosa Bonheur's love for nature, the kitchen is marked by the seal of sustainable development. Most of the organic products come from the castle's orchard or vegetable garden, and the recipes are taken from the cookbook of Céline, Rosa Bonheur's devoted cook.
