Description

Today, Repetto is an iconic brand that embodies all things ballet. With satin ribbons, flimsy tulles and silky leotards: her first store, which opened in 1959 at 22 rue de la Paix, quickly won favour with the child ballet students from the neighbouring Opéra Garnier. Rose Repetto was not just an exceptional designer; she was also the mother of one of the greatest dancers of his generation, for whom she created the most comfortable wardrobe imaginable, soon to be adopted by all the stars.

But things really took off in 1956, when, at the request of Brigitte Bardot, Rose designed a dress shoe as comfortable as her ballet pumps. The famous Repetto ballet shoe, with its impeccable “stitch and return” finish, brought the world of dance into the public domain. Since 2012, Repetto has even produced a line of women’s prêt-à-porter clothes inspired by classical ballet. Drawing on the image of the childlike woman, as well as an athletic aesthetic, Repetto cultivates an eternal grace.
