  2. A breath of fresh air
  3. Nature spots and forests
  4. Regional Natural Park of the Gâtinais français

Description

A natural park in southeastern Paris, the Gâtinais français is a real area of visual contrasts where forests and agricultural lands blend together. Plateaux, plains and valleys** characterize its landscapes crossed by three rivers and one fleuve : the Seine.

The sandy soil allows the cultivation of many plants including cresson and peppermint, products of the local soil as well as many medicinal plants that can be found at the Conservatoire National des Plantes à Parfum, Médicinales et Aromatiques de Milly-la-Forêt. Its sandstone basement has allowed the construction of small houses that can be found in the small charming villages located in the park.

As for visits, the Gâtinais is not to be outdone since you can find on its territory, among others, cultural spaces, the Departmental Museum of Barbizon Painters, the Jean-François Millet Workshop, the house of Jean Cocteau or in another register the Flying Museum Salis dedicated to the world of airplanes. They are also churches, chapels** and castles with remarkable gardens (Courances and Chamarande but alsofarms** and artists' and craftsmen's workshops….

For those who prefer to get moving, the Île de loisirs de Buthiers and the base de loisirs de Seine-Ecole offer a wide range of **activities on water or on land (mountain biking, archery, climbing…). Fans of hiking, cycling or riding will also find their pleasure in this green setting. And the most adventurous will also be able to experiment with the accrobranche.
Enough to program many outings according to your tastes!
