Pamela

Who is Pamela? The club’s owners named it in honour of Jim Morrison, who was a regular here, and his girlfriend, Pamela. After reopening in 2021, this nightclub quickly became the new temple of techno, house and disco music.

Description

The challenge is on! To bring the party atmosphere back to the heart of the Latin Quarter on the left bank of the Seine. This legendary venue at no. 62 Rue Mazarine is now called the Pamela. As a cocktail bar and nightclub it has brought a brand new vibe to the nightlife of Paris.

Grooving under the vaults

Rather than its nightclubs, the 6th arrondissement is best known for its book cafés and the bohemian atmosphere of its Saint-Germain-des-Prés district! Yet the Pamela, at 62 Rue Mazarine, attracts local clubbers and tourists who come to enjoy themselves in a venue with a difference.

Under the stone vaults, the specialised musical line-up will appeal to enthusiasts. Fans of house, techno and disco music take to the dance floor in a subdued seventies-style decor of alcoves decorated with aluminium or red patterns, comfy sofas, and huge mirrorballs.

The Latin Quarter is truly unique, and so is the merrymaking here. Between the cocktail bar, the smoking room and the dance floor, the Pamela’s musical vibes ring out from Thursday to Saturday, from 11pm until dawn.

The ghost of Jim Morrison

In the 1970s, this legendary Parisian nightlife venue was called the Rock’n’Roll Circus. Not yet taken over by the DJ sets, it was more the favourite haunt of rockers, including the likes of Jim Morrison and his girlfriend, Pamela Courson. So the Pamela pays homage to the famous singer of The Doors, who is said to have decorated one of the doors here, and to have died of a heart attack in the club’s toilets in 1971. Dream, fantasy or reality? Legends were built amid the psychedelic smoke of that era.

The Paris Region boasts a multitude of nightclubs where you can party on the right bank, the left bank or anywhere around the capital. Enjoy!
