Description
A Parisian bistro with a Hanok feel. The dishes range from very mild to very spicy. And the menu is exotic but with a French twist. No doubt about it, this is definitely a Korean restaurant. But with a French chef: Thibault Sombardier. At his third restaurant in the French capital, the former Top Chef TV show finalist proposes dishes from the land of the morning calm.
A one-way trip from Paris to Seoul
Who says Korean cuisine has to be spicy to be tasty? In the 7th arrondissement, Mojju introduces the most sensitive palates to the acidic taste of kimchi and the finesse of Wagyu. The chilli sauce is, however, always at hand for die-hard fans.
The restaurant serves a variety of raw, braised, sweet-and-sour and grilled foods, never compromising on quality. The menu features a few noble dishes such as veal skirt steak, scallop carpaccio and aged duck, all with a Korean twist imported from Seoul. The reasonable prices mean you can treat yourself from starter to dessert, not forgetting the wine list which is also a French-Asian mix. The restaurant opens every evening.
From Friday to Sunday, Mojju also serves a breakfast of broth and a daily special with rice and banchan. Banchan come in a wide variety of accompaniments, served as a side dish in 4 or 5 separate bowls. The ideal meal to avoid those mid-afternoon effects of digesting your lunch.
A sophisticated and inviting atmosphere
Dinner in a Hanok, just a stone’s throw from the Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Museum? No problem. When it comes to the decoration, Mojju strikes a fine balance between French bistro and traditional Korean establishment. Designed by Dorénavant Studio, the decor is deliberately understated and inviting, with elegant woodwork and sophistication in the Asian detail: enamelled ceramics, hanging prints and long, beckoning seats. The setting is almost as warm as those few drops of chilli sauce added to your dish.
