Description
Opened by Mohamed Cheikh, winner of Top Chef 2021, Meïda is much more than a restaurant: it’s an invitation to travel. Located opposite Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine’s town hall, next to Bouillon du Coq, this light-filled, welcoming spot embodies the Mediterranean spirit. The name “Meïda” means “the table” in Arabic—a symbol of sharing and conviviality—values close to the chef’s heart, as he wanted to create a warm, accessible, generous place.
As soon as you step through the restaurant’s doors, you’re immediately won over by its bright, elegant space, where modernity meets conviviality. The large picture windows, flooding the room with natural light, open onto a clear, soothing view, creating an atmosphere that is both warm and sophisticated. Beneath designer chandeliers suspended with elegance, guests settle into inviting banquettes upholstered in soft, contemporary fabrics—perfect for relaxing and lingering over long meals with friends or as a couple. The thoughtfully designed layout, combining fine wood, clean lines, and touches of greenery, gives the whole place a chic yet laid-back feel, making Meïda a spot you’ll love returning to—whether for a terrace lunch or an indoor dinner.
Sun-kissed cuisine
Meïda’s menu is a skilful blend of Mediterranean classics and exclusive creations, revisiting flavours from across the Mediterranean basin. You’ll find mezze, meat and fish dishes, as well as vegetarian options.
At Meïda, the menu is a true ode to the Mediterranean’s sun-drenched flavours, where tradition meets boldness. Chef Mohamed Cheikh, inspired by his roots and his journey, offers a joyful, cosmopolitan cuisine designed to be shared. The mezze—like silky hummus or aubergine caviar—kick things off deliciously, while signature plates such as spiced sirloin flank steak with merguez flavours, roasted meagre fillet served with maâkouda potatoes and chermoula sauce, and reimagined arancini reveal the full richness of carefully sourced ingredients.
Desserts—like rice pudding delicately scented with orange blossom—add a touch of sweetness and nostalgia. Each plate is an invitation to travel, where spices, fresh herbs, and authentic flavours come together for guests’ greatest enjoyment.
