- Magellan, a journey that changed the world
Description
From October 22, 2025 to February 15, 2026, the musée national de la Marine in Paris offers a breathtaking insight into one of history's greatest exploits: the first circumnavigation of the globe by sea, initiated by Fernand de Magellan in 1519. Through an immersive scenography, the exhibition Magellan, a journey that changed the world invites you to relive this extraordinary human and maritime adventure.
A sensory and historical immersion
Guided by the eye of Antonio Pigafetta, the expedition's chronicler, get ready to follow the major stages of the journey, thanks to monumental projections, evocative sets and embodied narratives. The exhibition, conceived with Camera Lucida and Lucid Realities, draws on the documentary series Magellan's Incredible Journey to offer an educational and emotionally-charged experience.
A contemporary look at an epic of the past
The exhibition looks beyond Magellan's maritime prowess to examine the geopolitical stakes, Renaissance representations of the world and the contemporary resonances of this adventure. It also highlights the forgotten figures of the expedition and the human consequences of this historic circumnavigation.
