MABA - Bernard Anthonioz Art Centre
Description
In Nogent-sur-Marne, south-west of Paris, not far from the Bois de Vincennes, the Fondation des Artistes has opened the Maison d’Art Bernard Anthonioz (MABA), an art centre designed to promote and spread contemporary art and encourage the emergence of experimental projects.
A showcase for contemporary art just a stone's throw from Paris
Founded in 1992, this unique institution combines temporary exhibitions, artist residencies and educational workshops, offering total immersion in the world of visual arts. With a demanding yet accessible programme, the Maison d'Art Bernard Anthonioz showcases emerging and established artists, while promoting dialogue between the public and creators. Its intimate setting and commitment to promoting the arts make it a benchmark in the cultural landscape of the Paris region. Whether you are an art lover, a professional or simply curious, this place invites you to explore contemporary forms of artistic expression.
Located in a 17th-century mansion, the Foundation holds three to four exhibitions a year at MABA, mainly focusing on the most innovative forms of photography and graphic design, but also welcoming other works of visual art that interrogate history or memory, territory or environment, as well as works of cinema.
MABA is a member of the Tram network, which comprises 34 contemporary art spaces in the Paris Region, including the Jeu de Paume and the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and Jean Tinguely’s Cyclops in Milly-la-Forêt, to name but a few.
