Lyric Festival "Opera en plein air"
The Domaine de Sceaux, west of Paris, opens this new edition of the opera event Opéra en plein air. And what better setting for La Traviata, the opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi? As soon as you step through the gates of the famous park designed by the gardener André Le Nôtre, the obvious beauty of the place awakens your senses. All the conditions are fulfilled to allow you to enjoy an exceptional evening with one of the most famous and celebrated stories of the 19th century** and certainly one of the most performed even today.
La Traviata, an impossible love
Created in 1853 at the Fenice in Venice based on Alexandre Dumas fils' novel, "La Dame aux camélias ", La Traviata tells the tragic love story between Violetta and Alfredo Germont, a story where redemption mingles with fatality, that of a courtesan who can only lose in the face of the hypocrisy of the high society of her time.
Let yourself be bewitched from the first notes by this romantic heroine who carries all the pain of the world on her shoulders. The music is simple and powerful, and the libretto is wonderfully enhanced by the setting of the castle and park.
Opera for children
Piccola Opéra, designed for a young audience of children from 4 years old, is to be shared with the whole family.
Four opera singers, a pianist and a narrator give us the opportunity to savor a light and exalted selection of opera arias! The burlesque joins the sensitive, and the little pranks are sung in solo, duo and trio. Mozart, Bizet, Puccini, …, the show explores the great composers and the human passions that make up the history of opera, and whose universal scope can be understood at any age.
As for the adults, Piccola Opéra is performed on the stage set up for the evening performance. A lyrical appetizer that will whet the appetite of the very young and an experience to be enjoyed by all!
