Description
Since 1985, the Librairie Gourmande has been a must for food, pastry and wine enthusiasts. In 2025, to celebrate its 40th anniversary, this Parisian institution is beginning a new chapter by moving to 50 rue Vavin, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, not far from the musée Zadkine and the Montparnasse cemetery.
A lively place, designed for gourmets
The new bookshop will win you over with its warm atmosphere and pop colours. The space, on one level, is organised by theme to facilitate discovery: everyday cooking, world gastronomy, healthy eating, vegetarian cooking, not forgetting books for children and gourmet literature.
A collection unique in France
With over 20,000 references**, Librairie Gourmande offers much more than cookery books. There are also culinary comics, essays, old books and rare items. One area is devoted entirely to sweet foods - pastries, ice creams, chocolate - and another to bakery products, with books on sourdough and Viennese pastries. Further on, under a large glass roof, books by chefs rub shoulders with those on meat, fish, sauces, fermentation and even the human sciences applied to gastronomy.
A place of transmission and passion
The Librairie Gourmande is more than just a shop: it's a place to live, to share and to be inspired. It regularly hosts events, signings and meetings with authors and chefs. Whether you're a professional, a cookery student or just curious, you'll find plenty to feed your passion.
