A historic venue that has become unmissable

Opened in 1975 in the heart of Essonne, Les Arènes de Grand Paris Sud, formerly known as the Arènes de l’Agora, have been a major cultural venue for nearly fifty years. Originally designed to host concerts, shows and sporting events, they have welcomed a wide range of artists and competitions, from basketball to international chess tournaments.

After a major renovation launched in 2018, the venue reopened in 2024 with a capacity of around 3,000 seats and modernized facilities, confirming its role as a multifunctional space dedicated to live entertainment, sport… and now esport.

The rise of esports: a rapidly growing phenomenon

Long regarded as a leisure activity, esports is now enjoying real momentum in France. Driven by streaming platforms, major international competitions and the emergence of iconic clubs, the phenomenon has now established itself as a culture in its own right.

To play a part in this movement, Les Arènes de Grand Paris Sud has developed a partnership with the famous Karmine Corp and has become one of the emblematic venues on this scene.
Founded in 2020 by Kamel “Kameto” Kebir and Amine “Prime” Mekri, the team quickly established itself on the international stage while building an extremely committed fan community. Karmine Corp, four-time EMEA Masters champion and one of the most popular esports clubs in France, has therefore taken up residence at Les Arènes de Grand Paris Sud and become the first public venue in Europe to host a resident esports club. A major turning point for the discipline!

A rich year-round programme

Since reopening, Les Arènes has hosted a varied programme combining esport, concerts and cultural events.
On the gaming side, competitions are multiplying: the Coupe de France League of Legends, Rocket League tournaments, and major international events such as the LEC Spring Roadtrip organised with Riot Games. The success was immediate!
Beyond esport, visitors can also enjoy all kinds of concerts, shows and sporting events. With its unique position at the crossroads of sport, culture and digital innovation, Les Arènes de Grand Paris Sud embodies a new way of experiencing events.
