Description

Dressed in yellow ochre walls and topped with glazed tiles, the Khánh-Anh Pagoda rises in the heart of Évry-Courcouronnes, south of the Paris Region. This Vietnamese inspired Buddhist sanctuary is far more than a religious building: it serves as a bridge between cultures, a place for reflection, and a symbol of cultural diversity.

A place of spirituality and serenity

Inaugurated in 2005, the pagoda took around twenty years to build. This eighteen storey reinforced concrete structure reaches a height of eighteen meters. Designed in traditional Vietnamese architecture, its prayer hall can accommodate 1,500 people and sits at the center of the building, accessible by numerous staircases. At the back of the hall stands a majestic four meter high Buddha statue covered in gold leaf, where worshippers place traditional offerings (flowers, fruit, incense, or candles). The atmosphere is soothing and ideal for meditation.
The site also houses a major Buddhist cultural center, including meeting rooms, a museum, a library, and a training center.

Discover Buddhist teachings, take part in ceremonies, or simply admire the artworks that adorn the space. The monks welcome visitors to share their knowledge and philosophy of life, offering an authentic immersion into Vietnamese culture.

A bridge between cultures

As the headquarters of the Unified Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation in Europe, the Khánh-Anh Pagoda reflects the richness brought by Vietnamese communities, who have preserved their traditions while adapting to life in France.
Traditional celebrations such as Tết (Vietnamese New Year) are held here, attracting visitors from all backgrounds. Calligraphy workshops, meditation classes, and Vietnamese food tastings allow guests to fully immerse themselves in this fascinating culture. Discover another culture without leaving Paris Region!

Schools and associations regularly organize guided tours, exhibitions, and conferences, helping raise awareness of religious and cultural diversity. Whether you are passionate about architecture and history or a practicing Buddhist, the Khánh-Anh Pagoda attracts visitors from around the world. Don’t miss the chance to visit this spiritual and cultural gem!
