The Paris Region goes into party mode during the women’s world cup, organising all sorts of events and activities for the occasion. With an activity area, workshops, big screens and more on offer, this guide is jam-packed with tips on how to join in the festivities – so the ball’s in your court!

Matches in Paris – back of the net!

This year, France is hosting the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will take place this summer between 7 June and 7 July. The competition promises to be jam-packed with sporting excitement, with 24 teams battling it out over 52 matches to be crowned world champions!

Activities

If you’re looking to really make the most of the party mood, why not join in one of the many activities put on especially for the occasion! Whether you’re flying solo or enjoying time with friends or family, this is the perfect chance to meet up with other football fans come to support their teams and experience the unique atmosphere of a fan zone.

FIFA Fan Experience Village

Head to Les Halles if you don’t want to miss out on a single second of the tournament! The Fan Experience Village will be open in central Paris throughout the competition.

Every single match will be shown on two giant screens out on the lawn in the Forum des Halles’ Nelson Mandela Garden. With space for no less than 10,000 fans, it’s sure to be a real party atmosphere in there! You’ll also be able to enjoy all sorts of activities between 14:00 and 23:30. What with table football, tournaments and workshops on offer, you’ll be spoilt for choice!

There will be two mini 5-a-side pitches set up under the Canopée for you to enjoy a friendly kickabout, and the organisations based in the Forum des Halles will also be offering plenty of family-friendly activities. You can visit the media library, the music academy, the La Place hip hop centre or even the amateur art centre! When lunchtime rolls around, head to the food court on the Rue Berger side for a range of healthy, locally-sourced food to fuel your afternoon.

Sports bar

Would you rather head to the pub to watch a match? If it’s comfy seats in front of giant screens you’re after, then head for the sanctuary of one of the bars near the Fan Experience Village.

Near the Bourse metro station, Truskel feels just like a good old Irish pub. It’s spread over three rooms, including its vaulted cellar where all the matches are screened. Another option not far from the Fan Experience Village is the The Hide Pub, dubbed a Mecca for sports fans with no less than 7 giant screens.

The Parc des Princes – PSG

If you’re not ready for the excitement of the competition to end, head to the Parc des Princes in the 16th arrondissement of Paris for an unforgettable experience. From the end of July 2019, you’ll be able to come and visit one of the oldest and most famous stadiums in France!

Stadium Tour

The Paris Saint-Germain tour is an opportunity for you to get inside the stadium and walk in the footsteps of footballing greats. The experience is a cross between an adventure trail and augmented reality, winding from the turf of the Parc des Princes through the stands, the VIP boxes and the player dressing rooms. Prepare for all the secrets of this iconic venue to be revealed on this soul-stirring tour, which is available in several languages and perfect for sharing with friends or family.

History Room

An immersive exhibition looking at the history of the club and its stadium, from winning the Coupe de France in 1982 to being crowned Champions of France in 2019. Admire the wall full of illustrious trophies and relive some of PSG’s biggest matches and best goals!

VR Arcade

Check out the huge games room on the first floor of the PSG Megastore for some mind-blowing virtual reality experiences with a view out over the Parc des Princes. You can even see what day-to-day life is like for some of the club’s greats! From training with Thiago Silva and dribbling drills with Kylian Mbappé to trying to keep Neymar out of the net, come and make your dreams a reality!
