Grand Steeple Chase de Paris

The Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris is the pre-eminent sporting challenge in the Obstacle Course discipline. This prestigious competition, held for almost 150 years on the track of the hippodrome d'Auteuil, offers an impressive spectacle both to the champions on the starting line and to the public in the stands.

The race, which lasts more than 7 minutes, covers a record distance of 6 kilometres, featuring 23 iconic steeplechase obstacles. These include the unique course that crosses the Rivière des Tribunes twice, an obstacle requiring a remarkable jump of 8 metres. Before entering the final bend, the jokers must overcome the Rail Ditch and Fence, nicknamed the Justice of the Peace as it is often at this precise moment that victory is decided.

Only horses over 5 years of age with exceptional qualities and associated with the best jockeys in Obstacle racing have the privilege of taking part in this legendary challenge.

Grand Steeple-Chase 2025: 147th competition

The 147th edition of the Grand Steeple-Chase will take place on 17 and 18 May. On the programme: two days of competition and celebration, 7 intense minutes of galloping and jumping punctuated by all the surrounding entertainment.

The weekend promises to be packed with competition, with 11 hurdle events and 5 steeplechase races.
