Come and explore the forest in the most traditional ways, including leafy walks, a visit to the grounds of the Château de Fontainebleau, watching a hunt or a long, leisurely picnic.

  4. Fontainebleau forest rides

To find the grounds of the Château de Fontainebleau, head up the Grand Parterre, next to Porte Dorée at the end of the Maintenon avenue. The forest rides run every day, allowing you to explore the Grand Parterre and the park with a 20-minute guided excursion in a traditional calèche cart drawn by two horses.
There is also the option of making a group or individual booking for “à la carte” trips.

And if you’d like to discover the English Garden, choose a special horse-drawn carriage tour (6 or 7 people maximum)! The new route, with commentary, will take you through rarely-explored areas where you can learn more about the history of this landscape designed by the architect Hurtault.
Tour available only by reservation.

You can buy your tickets at the Fontainebleau Tourist Office.

2-hour forest excursions are also available.
