The Festival de Saint-Denis is once again setting the bar very high from 31 May to 3 July 2022!

For more than 50 years now, each year, as summer approaches, the Classical Music Festival has welcomed the greatest classical ensembles as well as the talents of tomorrow to the heart of the architectural heritage of Saint-Denis.

The basilica of Saint-Denis, the last resting place of the kings and queens of France, welcomes the greatest conductors and international orchestras as well as all the musical formations of Radio France and the Orchestre national d'Île-de-France for large-scale, high-quality classical, symphonic** and choral concerts. Also on the programme are creations, recitals and chamber music concerts in the magnificent setting of the Maison d'Éducation de la Légion d'Honneur, located close to the basilica.

This year, renowned orchestras and musicians from the world of classical music will perform alongside artists from more contemporary music styles, such as Mc Solaar and Ibrahim Maalouf.

The 2022 edition of the Saint-Denis Festival features 17 concerts, including :

  • 31 May 2022: Rossini's Stabat Mater, with the Choir and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Myung-Whun Chung,
  • 2 June 2022: Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto and Dvořák's Symphony No. 7, with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra,
  • 9 June 2022: Free Spirit Ensemble, Ibrahim Maalouf, trumpet, and Gautier Capuçon, cello, in a special creation,
  • 13 June 2022: MC Solaar's most famous songs accompanied by strings, brass and choir, with the rapper himself, The Ice Kream and the Orchestre national d'Île-de-France, conducted by Fiona Monbet,
