Elliott Erwitt, the photographer's eye
The exhibition "Elliott Erwitt. A rétrospective " presented at the Musée Maillol in Paris retraces the different themes of his work through an exceptional collection of 215 black and white and colour photographs covering the period from 1949 to the 2000s.
This exceptional presentation reflects the diversity of the subjects he tackled and the profound unity of the work of this painter of the intimate, photojournalist, advertising photographer and above all, terribly humanist. With his camera, he has his own way of immortalizing these moments of daily life with a look that belongs to him alone, combining emotion and humour.
