Description

Two addresses to experience chess differently

The original Blitz Society is located in Paris’s 6th arrondissement, just a stone’s throw from Saint-Germain-des-Prés. In this warm setting, blending stone, wood and soft lighting, every table is equipped with a chessboard so that everyone can play, improve, or simply watch the games unfold.

Following its success, a second address opened in the 1st arrondissement: a hidden speakeasy at 58 rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, set upstairs in a restaurant. More nocturnal in spirit, this confidential venue offers a hushed atmosphere where blitz games, cocktails and conversations continue until the end of the night.
Two complementary atmospheres, united by the same passion: playing and meeting people.

Chess, a sport enjoying a real revival

Long seen as a solitary game, chess is now experiencing a genuine resurgence in popularity. A strategic discipline par excellence, it develops concentration, memory and decision-making skills.

At Blitz Society, the game becomes a universal language, accessible to all levels and all ages. Here, there’s no need to come with someone else: the venue defines itself as a “physical social network” where it’s easy to find an opponent and share a convivial moment.
Inspired by New York squares where players face off outdoors, the Parisian concept puts chess back at the heart of human interaction, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

A lively venue

Blitz Society is about more than just a few impromptu games. The venue offers a rich programme that energises the Parisian chess scene. With weekly tournaments, themed evenings and even training sessions led by professionals, there is something for everyone.
