Bar Les Ombres
Description
Soft music floats through the air. The sound of shakers sets the tempo. A few drops of condensation are beading on your glass. You raise your lips to what promises to be the most exquisite gorge of your summer. The first flavours confirm this. This delicate creation was born of the union of two passions: those of Alain Ducasse and Margot Lecarpentier.
An original duo
On one side, the chef of the gourmet restaurant Les Ombres. On the other, a mixologist who runs Combat, Belleville's leading cocktail bar. When Alain Ducasse and Margot Lecarpentier teamed up, genius seemed inevitable. The result of their union is the bar Les Ombres.
Like all beautiful things, the event is ephemeral. Margot, known on Instagram under the pseudonym Margot Combat, is taking up residence for six months from May.
Toast with the Eiffel Tower
The subtlety of the cocktails is matched only by the bar's setting. Facing the Eiffel Tower, Les Ombres enjoys a splendid view from the rooftop of the Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac museum. The bar is located on the restaurant's terrace. Perched high above Paris, you'd almost think you were one of the Greek gods sipping their nectar.
An exclusive menu
What do a chef and a mixologist have in common? Experimentation. Creativity. Sometimes a touch of madness. By joining forces, the two epicureans have created a menu of exclusive cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
"Less sugar, more acidity, more bitterness, more astringency… In short, less roundness, more harshness.” Alain Ducasse's instructions are as clear as a drop of vodka. And Margot is obviously up to the challenge.
Many adjectives can be used to describe the result: subtle, surprising, refined… But the best thing is to try out the whole menu.
