Description
Stroll alongside the Grand Canal, enter the most sumptuous palaces to admire their lavish interior decoration, roam the narrow alleyways and many bridges and penetrate their secrets – all without leaving the Paris Region. This is the promise of ”Venice Revealed”, the new and original exhibition at the brand new Grand Palais Immersif.
Thanks to the digitisation and 3D modelling of Venice carried out by Iconem in collaboration with the Fondazione civici di Venezia, you will be able to dive into the heart of the City of the Doges and discover why this city, designed as a sumptuous theatre set, is above all a miracle of engineering and architecture that is unique in the world.
Built on the unstable mud of the lagoon, and supported by millions of piles, La Serenissima has struggled for centuries against the sea, the merciless threat that was once also the source of the city’s immense wealth. This original immersive experience and the astounding images generated by the most innovative technology give you the opportunity to better understand both Venice’s history and its artistic heritage. The music, a combination of acoustic and electronic instruments and sound design, created especially for the exhibition, accompanies you on your journey and immerses you even more deeply in the city’s soul.
Le Grand Palais Immersif
**A new venue devoted to digital exhibitions ** in the Paris Region, the Grand Palais Immersif currently occupies an area within the “adjustable room” of the Opéra Bastille in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.
Two immersive exhibitions will be staged every year, all offering rich experiences. The Grand Palais, currently undergoing building work, will, once re-opened, be hosting the exhibitions of the Grand Palais Immersif, within dedicated galleries.
