Description

This happened in 2023

The next Nuit Blanche will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023 with free contemporary art throughout Paris and the surrounding region and a special focus on the Seine in Paris as far as Rouen in Normandy.

Nuit Blanche, a celebration of contemporary art

In the heart of the public space as well as in more secret places, remarkable works and unique performances created by artists from all over the world are waiting to be discovered and admired each year.

Nuit Blanche, a free event open to all, as much artistic as festive, puts the spotlight for this first spring edition, under the artistic direction of Kitty Hartl, already in charge in 2022, on "the Seine as an imaginary pathway" and on sport with several events labelled by Paris 2024 as a "Cultural Olympiad".

A pop and colourful jungle, the poster of this 2023 edition sets the tone! Environmental concerns** are at the heart of the programme with eco-responsible animations that are part of a poetic world inhabited by strange hybrids between humans, animals and plants. You can discover colourful swimming bees on the banks of the Seine, or an ancestral Sufi dance** under the vaults of the Petit Palais by Rana Gorgani. A pure moment of hypnosis!

On the Seine, the duo Plastique Fantastique chose the Léopold-Sédar-Senghor footbridge as a setting to install a giant golden inflatable ring to evoke the inseparable dimension of the city and its river. Ludmila Rodrigues and Mike Rijnierse** have imagined a sunset that never seems to disappear on the tip of the Ile Saint-Louis.
From Paris to Vitry-sur-Seine, from the Centre Pompidou to the musée du quai branly-Jacques Chirac, let yourself be carried away by the magic of this unique night. More than seventy cultural institutions present unusual, poetic projects to enchant your evening until the early hours.

There's always something going on in Paris Region. Find the whole programme here !
