Description

St Helena Island, 5th May 1821. At 5:49 in the evening, the exiled Emperor breathed his last and history began to unfold!

200 years after his death, the legend of this controversial character, adored by some, hated by others, remains intact. For his death immediately aroused passions and memories, testimonies, images and relics began to abound.

Investigating all aspects of his last moments, his funeral, the return of his ashes and the monuments that perpetuate his memory, the Musée de l'Armée and the exhibition Napoléon is no more present nearly two hundred and fifty objects combining fine arts, archives and popular art objects to understand the triumphal march of Napoléon towards eternity.

Napoleon is no more, but he has certainly not finished making a name for himself!
