Restaurant

Le Dôme du Marais

Based in the historic buildings formerly home to the Mont-de-Piété de Paris (the city pawnbrokers), this chic restaurant pays its debts to all things traditional.

Description

Here, the light comes from above! At the end of the long entrance corridor, decorated like a cabinet of curiosities, we come to the “winter garden”, an old courtyard transformed into an elegant dining space, crowned with a skylight which lets the daylight pour in and makes for a supremely romantic setting come the evening time.

Then comes the veritable sanctuary to which the establishment owes its name: the former auction room of the Mont-de-Piété, topped with a magnificent neoclassical metal and glass dome built in the 19th century. It is hard to imagine a more charming setting in which to enjoy a good meal. The menu revisits the classics with tact and finesse, examples including foie gras terrine, port reduction, quince compote and toasted brioche, and stripped cod with carrot and butternut squash, clementine emulsion and trout roe. The accomplished chef favours organic meat, fish straight from the Atlantic coast, and local vegetables, and your dining experience is all the better for it!
